RX4 Meeting December 4, 2012 12:00-1:45 Members Present: Geoff Hill, Elery Keene, Ross Nason, Lass Von Appen, Linda Woods The annual meeting will be held on January 12. Ross hopes this meeting addresses critical community issues in a way that is meaningful. He encouraged each person present to invite new people to attend this meeting to add new thoughts. Consensus is to address where the United States is with the big picture. On December 8, SMMC will be joining Waterville Main St for Holiday Open House. We will be wrapping presents at Silver St. Tavern and distributing our recycled bags. Action Items: Linda & Tim: 11:00 to 1:00 Linda: Ask Bonnie & Laura to help from 1:00-3:00 Ross: Make a voucher for a free tote & get these to Linda Ross: Contact Drew to be sure wrapping paper & tape Geoff: walk Main St. from 11:00 to 1:00, encouraging shoppers to go to Silver St. Tavern for free wrapping Geoff: Contact Shawn to join you Elery stated that Winslow Public Works picks up the residents’ leaves and takes them to the Public Works Garage. Ross is assisting the new Winslow Public Works’ director to determine where to take these leaves, so they can be turned into compost. Marian Flaherty (a former member of this team) volunteers at the Mid Maine Homeless Shelter. She wondered if the RX4 Team could set up a recycling program at the shelter. This was tabled until next month. Action Item: Geoff: Contact Shawn about making the initial contact
