Nottoway Plantation Tour
Nottoway Plantation, also known as Nottoway Plantation House is located in White Castle, LA. The house is a Greek Rival and Italianate-styled mansion built by John Hampden Randolph in 1859, and is the largest extant antebellum plantation house in the South with 53,000 square feet of floor space. The cost of Nottoway directed tour and transportation is $25.00. We will depart from Ochsner River Parish MOB We will leave Nottoway Plantation after the tour and drive to the Grapevine Restaurant in Donaldsonville, LA. Grapevine Restaurant serves Cajun and Creole Cuisine. They have an extensive menu with an average price of $15. You will order and pay for your individual lunches at the Grapevine. PLEASE RSVP! Monica Wyble, R.N., BSN, CCTC, Clinical Performance Coordinator, will give us a brief overview of the Telestroke program and how it benefits the community. And in addition she will talk about, “signs and symptoms of stroke, risk factors, and when to take action.” We will meet in the Ochsner River Parish Medical Office Bldg. Conference Room 309 at 12:00 Noon. Light lunch will be provided. PLEASE RSVP!

Announcements: Membership Renewals & Cards: Have you checked your card lately? Renewals are $10 per year. If your membership with GO has lapsed for 2-years or more you will be required to “re-join” the program at the existing membership rate of $25 (member) and $40 (member and spouse). If you do not renew your membership you will not be allowed to register or participate in any event and/or trips if your membership is not up-to-date. Membership replacement cards are $5.00. Will review membership of Ochsner River Parish members in July, 2015. Will send out letters notifying GO members of their membership status. When a fee is involved, it must be received within 5days of making the reservation to confirm your seat. Please check availability with the GO office before mailing a check. All trips are nonrefundable. Every attempt will be made to sell your seat to someone on the waiting list if you must cancel. YOU ARE NOT SCHEDULED FOR THE EVENT UNTIL THE CHECK IS RECEIVED Please submit separate checks for each event

August 2015 Calendar of Events River Parish Region August 12, 2015 (Wednesday): Exercise Program We are excited to announce that Kathy Koehl has agreed to be our certified exercise instructor. Kathy comes to us with a wealth of information in many styles of exercise and will tailor one that is just right for you. To start, Kathy will come to Ochsner River Parish Office Bldg. Room 309 every Wednesday and Friday, beginning on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 promptly at 10:15 a.m. The monthly cost of our exercise program will be $22.00 per month. The month of August will be complimentary. Kathy is a certified exercise instructor with additional accreditation in bone density. Payment is due by the 25th of the previous month, checks payable to Golden Opportunity RP. If you sign up after the 15th of the month you will be charged $11 for remainder of the month. Please RSVP! August 6, 2015 (Thursday): Movie Day This month’s movie will be “Still Alice’’, featuring Julianne Moore who won the Oscar for Best Actress at the 87th Annual Academy Awards. Playing the title character in the film “Still Alice,” Moore’s poignant portrayal of a woman diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease illustrates the impact of Alzheimer’s the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, on individuals and their families.
