January, 2017 Calendar of Events Kenner & River Parish Regions January 12, 2017 (Thursday): General Membership Meeting-River Parish Sr. Monica Gundler, SC has accepted our invitation to demonstrate chair massage, aromatherapy and other helpful tips on relaxation. We will meet in the Medical Office Bldg. 3rd floor Conference Room. We will begin at 12 noon, lunch will be served. RSVP required January 18, 2017 (Wednesday) Southern Food & Beverage Museum Please join us at the Southern Food & Beverage Museum. It is the living history organization dedicated to the discovery, understanding and celebration of the food, drink and the related culture of the South. Following the Museum we will go next door to the Toups’ Restaurant. Toups’ has an extensive menu to choose from. Please visit their website (www.toupsmeatery.com) Cost: $30.00, which includes the tour fee, and transportation. Upcoming Events February 16, 2017 (Thursday): Annadele’s Plantation Restaurant Dating back nearly two centuries, Annadele’s Plantation is a place where time stands still – a serene environment that allows you to take a deep breath and just relax. From the meticulously maintained grounds and cozy bed and breakfast to the popular New Orleansstyle restaurant, Annadele’s provides the perfect backdrop for our Golden Opportunity Day Trip. Cost will be $35.00 which will cover lunch and transportation. I must give Annadele’s a final head count by February 7, 2017. RSVP Required Thanks to everyone who participated in our Adopt a Senior Program with Mr. Christian with Home Instead. We collected over 25 gifts for the senior members just from our Regions. Our members of Golden Opportunity are very giving and considerate to the less fortunate in our area. If your payment is not received within 5 (five) days, your name may be taken off the reservation list. Keep in mind, our Golden Opportunity program is growing.
