Mission: Every person with or without a disability is employed

2013 APSE National Conference Race to Success Employment Comes in First! APSE supports the only annual national conference focused solely on the advancement of integrated employment. For the past 23 years, the National APSE Conference has brought together business and community leaders from across the country to network and focus on state of the art strategies to ensure equitable employment for citizens with disabilities. This year’s conference will feature a wide array of high quality breakout sessions on the latest innovations in employment of people with disabilities. Featured strands include state-of-the-art practices in integrated employment, transition from school to work, public policy and funding, leadership and personal development, and consumer, family and self-advocacy. This year we are also having hot topic sessions in the areas of post secondary education, self-employment, veterans, mental health, autism, and international trends. APSE has established the Employment Support Professional Certification Council (ESPCC) to oversee the first national certification program for employment support professionals. Now job coaches, job developers, transition employment specialists, job placement personnel, and employment specialists/ consultants can earn the designation of Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) by passing the national CESP examination. The exam will be offered each day during at the Conference on June 24 to 27, 2013. The fifth annual APSE Community Conversation will continue this year using the World Cafe format. Audience members will share ideas on how to keep the Employment First movement going forward, and how we as a community can come together to deal with these challenging times. We invite you to join us in Indianapolis, IN for an exciting conference that is sure to energize everyone and continue the Employment First conversation! 2
