Student Learning Outcomes COMM 006 INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1 Discuss and analyze cultural self-awareness, using a variety of intercultural communication theories. 2 Explain the definition of culture, including the importance and relationship of language, social cognition, and self-identification. 3 Identify and attempt to overcome common barriers to effective intercultural communication; demonstrate intercultural communication skills within a diverse group, to build understanding.
4 Provide a critical analysis of the biases, stereotypes, and cultural assumptions embedded in a television show or movie.
