About Dr. K G SUDHIER Dr. Sudhier K. G. Pillai earned his PhD in Library & Information science (Informetrics) from the University of Kerala in 2006. He earned his M Sc (Physics) from AMU, Aligarh in 1992 and MLISc from the University (1995) and qualified UGC-NET & JRF. Then he worked as a Librarian in the various teaching and research departments of the Kerala University for several years and Assistant Professor in the Department of Library & Information Science. He was also served as Librarian & Course Coordinator in the School of Distance Education, University of Kerala. He is having more than 20 years of professional experience in the field of LIS profession. He served as Academic Counselor of the IGNOU for the BLISc and MLISc programmes and Resource Person of UGC-Academic Staff Colleges. He is a Research Guide of University of Kerala and the M. S. University, Tirunelveli and has produced Five Ph Ds so far. Currently 02 scholars are pursuing PhD under his guidance. He has also guided more than 35 MLISc and 10 M. Phil dissertations. Dr. Sudhier has made substantial contributions in the areas of Scientometrics, Bibliometric laws, Citation Analysis and Institutional Productivity. So far, he has published 42 research papers in refereed journals, including ALIS- NISCAIR, DESIDOC-JLIT, SRELS- JIM, COLLNET- JSIM, IJIDT, ILA Bull. and IASLIC Bull. In addition that more than 72 papers were published/ presented in the seminar and conferences, as book chapters and popular articles and published a book -'Informetric Studies'Foreworded by Dr. Gangan Prathap (B. R. Publishing corporation, Delhi), edited another book 'Confetti of Thoughts on Library and Information Studies'- Foreworded by Dr. V. G. Talavar(Authors Press, New Delhi). He is the Associate Editor of International Journal of Library & Information Science (IJLIS), Editorial Board member of KLA Journal of Information Science & Technology (KJIST), Indian Journal of Library Science& Information Technology (IJLSIT), Journal of Information and Journal of Advancements in Library sciences (JoALS) and Reviewer of Annals of Library & Information Studies (ALIS- NISCAIR); International Journal of Information Dissemination & Technology (IJIDT, MM University), International Journal of Knowledge Content Development & Technology (IJKCDT,Korea)and Global Journal of Library & Information Technology (GJLIT). He is a Life Member of IASLIC- Kolkatta, ILA- New Delhi, SALIS- Chennai, IALA- Bangalore, MALAChennai and KLA- Thiruvananthapuram. Presently he is the editor of KLA Newsletter.
