Prior to the start of the meeting, the Assistant General Counsel confirmed that all requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act (Govt. Code Sections 54950, et seq.) and the provisions of Policy 100, Section 4.8 regarding Teleconferenced Meetings were met in order for Director Davis to participate in the meeting and advised that all votes must be taken by roll call vote. The meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m. with Committee Chair Kaplan presiding. Committee Members Present: Director Wallace, Director Davis, and Committee Chair Kaplan. Committee Members Absent: None. Also Present: Deputy General Manager Jim Gleich, Assistant General Counsel Carol Babington, Deputy General Manager for Service Development Nancy Skowbo, and District Secretary Linda Nemeroff. Public Comment There was no public comment offered. 1. Consider approving Paratransit Committee minutes of November 28, 2007. Consensus to forward the minutes to the full Board for approval as a result of the committee reorganization that took place on January 30, 2008.

BRIEFING ITEM(S)/ACTION ITEM(S): 2. Consider receiving report regarding paratransit driver recruitment (Requested by Committee – 9/5/07) (GM Memo No. 08-075). Staff to report back with retention strategies and incentives to keep good paratransit drivers, potential impacts on the union contract, and target populations for potential applicants. Consensus to forward to the Board of Directors for information (3). 3. Consider receiving report on the East Bay Paratransit (EBP) incentives and disincentives (Requested by Committee 11/28/07) (GM Memo No. 08-076). Consensus to forward to the Board of Directors for information (3). 4. Consider receiving report regarding the creation of a plan for the assessment of future paratransit needs from a broader regional perspective (Requested by Committee – 11/28/07) (verbal). Staff to report back in June on the final scope of work for the selection of a consultant to complete a detailed inventory of traditional and non-traditional transportation resources in Alameda County. Received verbal report. Agenda Planning New items were added and are outlined in the agenda items above. June ƒ
