Fonds Description Lois J. Carrier fonds.. – 1966-1972 6.5 cm of textual records. Biographical Sketch Lois Carrier received her B.A. from the University of Saskatchewan and B.L.S. (1952) and M.L.S. (1968) from the University of Toronto. She came to the University of British Columbia Library as head of the Social Sciences Division in 1966 and served in this capacity until 1984 when she became a general reference librarian. Carrier served as President of the Association of British Columbia Librarians in 1968. The A.B.C.L. was established in 1966 to provide continuing education for librarians and to encourage study and research on the part of professional librarians in the province. The organization concluded operations in the early 1970's. Scope and Content Fonds consists of minutes of meetings, correspondence and membership documents relating to Carrier's participation in the Association of British Columbia Librarians. Notes File list available. Title based on the contents of the fonds.
