Administrative Assistants are often the first impression a company makes on prospective customers. They are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a business and ensuring that important information is appropriately shared and maintained through electronic or other delivery and filing methods. They are the ones to schedule and coordinate meetings, record minutes and provide organizational support.

About The Program Macomb’s Administrative Assistant Professional Certificate Program, offered through Workforce and Continuing Education, will provide you with the skills necessary to run an efficient office. You will learn about workplace teams and team behavior, customer interaction, time management, accounting terminology, and paper and electronic recordkeeping. You will also be introduced to the best practices for maintaining a loyal customer base, the correlation between work habits and productivity, and bookkeeping as an effective communication tool. The program, which leads to a certificate of completion, can be finished in as little as four months. In this program, you will take the following courses: n Overview of the Administrative Assistant Profession (optional for the certificate) n Professionalism for the Administrative Assistant n Bookkeeping for the Administrative Assistant n Communication for the Administrative Assistant n Customer Service n Organizing Skills As part of Continuing Education, this program is open enrollment, which means you do not have to fill out an application to Macomb Community College or take a placement test.
