Authorize Director Wallace to attend the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Legislative Committee and Authorization Task Force Meeting in Washington, DC on September 12, 2008, at an estimated cost of $1,092, and Approve Utilization of Funds in the Board’s Transportation Advocacy Travel Account. Fiscal Impact: Budgeted FY 2008/09. Background/Discussion: Board Policy 180A, Section III.C.2. provides that a Director selected by the Board of Directors to participate with staff in travel to Washington, DC and elsewhere to assist in legislative advocacy activities be allowed, subject to Board approval, to utilize funds in the Board’s Transportation Advocacy Travel Account to pay for those expenses. As a member of APTA’s Authorization Task Force, Director Wallace is requesting funds to attend the meeting to advocate on the District’s behalf. Estimated costs: Airfare Lodging (2 nights) Per Diem (3 days @ $64/day IRS rate) Ground Transportation (3 days @ $30/day)
