September 16, 2015 (Wednesday): Lunch and Learn: “What is hospice and what exactly is palliative care?” presented by Ms. Julie Hoffman, LPN, CHPLN from St. Joseph Hospice/AIM Palliative Home Care. Ochsner Kenner Medical Office Building, Board Room 7th floor. (Noon) RSVP Required.
September 17, 2015 (Thursday): Bus trip to the Bonnet Carre Spillway in Norco and lunch (on your own) at Middendorf’s Restaurant. Bus departs from the Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner at 9:00 a.m. and picks up at Ochsner River Parish at 10:00 a.m. The expected return time to Laplace is 2:30 p.m., and arrival back in Kenner is 3:30p.m. Serving the engineering needs of South Louisiana is a task so monumental that it can only be performed by the U.S. Army. They meet the daily challenges associated with protecting the region from hurricane and storm damage, facilitating navigation along the Mississippi River, and simultaneously working to protect and restore the fragile and disappearing ecosystem that houses the water resources they manage. The cost of the trip is $25 per person and lunch will be on your own. Trip is based on 45 passengers. Please sign early as our trips fill up quickly. RSVP Required.
Upcoming events: Wednesday, October 14, 2015 Natchez Steamboat Lunch Jazz Cruise $55.00 per person (non refundable) includes bus transportation and Natchez Steamboat Jazz cruise buffet lunch on the great Mississippi River. We will have only 45 seats available, so please RSVP as soon as possible. We must have the full $55.00 at the time of registration.

Membership Renewals & Cards: Have you checked your card lately? Renewals are $10 per year. If your membership with GO has lapsed for 2-years or more you will be required to “re-join” the program at the existing membership rate of $25 (member) and $40 (member and spouse). If you do not renew your membership you will not be allowed to register or participate in any event and/or trips if your membership is not up-to-date. Membership replacement cards are $5.00. Will review membership of Ochsner River Parish members in July, 2015. Will send out letters notifying GO members of their membership status. When a fee is involved, it must be received within 5 days of making the reservation to confirm your seat. Please check availability with the GO office before mailing a check. All trips are non-refundable. Every attempt will be made to sell your seat to someone on the waiting list if you must cancel.
