Job Description Heitman is currently seeking a Senior Internal Auditor for our Chicago office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conduct assigned audit engagements successfully from beginning to end Develop audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives Obtain and review evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well documented Identify risks, internal controls and control gaps Identify and communicate issues raised and offer recommended solutions relevant to business and risk Observe and understand business processes ensuring processes are documented completely and accurately Prepare well documented audit working papers Ensure audit conclusions are based on complete understanding of the process, circumstances and risk Draft audit reports Proactively research and understand laws, regulations and best practices Maintain strong working relationships with all levels of employees, including senior management Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Requirements:

At least 5-7 years of experience in auditing Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor preferred Working knowledge of the securities industry and/or experience in highly regulated industries preferred Strong organization and follow up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Approximately 10% domestic and international travel required
