One-Third of Americans are Wrong A poll found that 31 percent of Americans think Obamacare has been repealed. However, 49 percent think it’s not repealed and 21 percent are not sure. This confusion no doubt stems from exaggerations by politicians and billboard-sized claims from the news media. What Trump said was this: “when the individual mandate is being repealed, that means Obamacare is being repealed because they get their money from the individual mandate.” First the mandate is not repealed and the penalty is only zeroed out. Second, although insurers get premiums and taxpayer-funded subsidies, the law is funded by a total of 19 different taxes and fees.
