This is day six of Medicare for All. The bill requires an enrollment process with several stipulations: • First, there must be a process for automatic enrollment of individuals at the time of birth, or upon establishment of residency in the United States. • Second, the process must provide enrollment of all eligible individuals, which includes every “resident of the United States,” and whomever else the Secretary decides to make eligible. • Third, enrollees must be given a Universal Medicare card for identification and processing of claims. But it must not include the Social Security number, which is understandable, but makes it handy for all those noncitizens that would likely be enrolled in this taxpayer-funded program.
