Medicare for All – Washington Will Set All the Rules
Welcome to Segment 12 of Medicare for All. The Medicare for All bill shows how bureaucrats and politicians often make big promises yet in the fine print list all the exceptions to those promises. For example, the bill says states determine provider qualifications through licensure or certification. But, state standards would have to follow “national minimum standards” set by the federal government. Federal officials would use these federal standards to monitor medical care in the states. Hospitals, other facilities and individual practitioners would only get paid for services under the Act if they comply with whatever standards are set by federal bureaucrats. States will not be in charge. Washington would set all the rules. “Medicare for All Act of 2019 (Jayapal),” https://jayapal.house.gov/wpcontent/uploads/2019/02/Medicare-for-All-Act-of-2019-Bill-Text.pdf
