Medicare for All — Regional Directors Rule
For this 16th segment on Medicare for All, let’s discuss the required appointment of regional directors. This reminds me of HillaryCare, which would have established Regional Alliances. Under Medicare for All, the regional directors would do a yearly needs assessment and submit it to the federal government; they’d recommend changes to reimbursement of doctors and payment for services; they’d create a mechanism to measure quality and ensure that all doctors, practitioners and facilities comply with it. And before the year begins, each facility would be required to negotiate with the regional director for a quarterly payment to cover all services provided to patients. Pity the hospital disliked by the regional director.
