Health Freedom Minute December 27, 2012

Sandwich Surcharges and Cut Hours Will you lose your job? Obamacare requires employers with more than 50 full-time workers to have insurance for employees or pay a penalty of $2000 per employee. The penalty can be avoided by having fewer than 50 employees or by cutting employee hours to less than full-time. Under Obamacare fulltime is 30 hours or more. Jimmy Johns says the mandate will cost 50 cents a sandwich so workersʼ hours may have to be cut. Dennyʼs restaurants may add an Obamacare surcharge to the menu. Under the law, everyone must buy health insurance or pay a tax, but how will you do that with less money or without a job? “Morning Bell: Businesses Cutting Hours, Bracing for Costs of Obamacare.” Amy Payne, The Foundry (Heritage Foundation), December 6, 2012.

Presented daily by Twila Brase, President, Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom. The Health Freedom Minute is now heard in 37 states: Mornings M-Th at AM1280 (The Patriot) in MN and 91.5 AM WHKC (FreedomFM) in OH, afternoons on American Family Radio, and daily on the Bott Radio Network.
