Medicaid Dollars Up in Smoke The Medicaid program has lost track of billions of dollars, according to a new government report. $43 billion dollars vanished without a trace in 2009. Yet Obamacare will give taxpayer-funded Medicaid to at least 11 million more people at a cost of $669 billion dollars – with health plans getting most of the money. States donʼt report their Medicaid spending until three years after the fact, making oversight all but impossible. So why should we expand a program already unable to account for spending billions of our tax dollars?
