Please keep in mind if your kids are not signed in for Kids club, they need to be dining at the table. This ensures all Members have a great dining experience.

With the monsoon season hopefully behind us, we're looking for some June heat. This month we are taking our maintenance programs to a new level. We're adding key crew members, increasing our water treatment injections, increasing frequency of mowing and bunker raking, lowering the height of cut on our greens, just to name a few things. With the heavy tournament schedule in June, we will take a break from our greens verticutting, but continue to lightly sand top-dress them every 2 weeks. We will begin sodding some of our trouble spots in fairways and tees as well. One new addition to our equipment lineup is a brand new large material spreader, the Dakota Turf Tender 440, for spreading gypsum, sand, and topsoil in our fairways. Besides the organic acid and wetting agent treatments, and our gypsum and sand topdressing, we will begin a season long deep slicing of hard pan and compacted areas in fairways and roughs, with our AerWay slicer/aerator. Thanks for your continued support! Jerry L. Mathews, CGCS Certified Golf Course Superintendent

Cassie’s Corner There are many perks to golf, from the physical, to the mental, to the business networking aspects. Golf is a great way to build interpersonal relationships with coworkers, or potential business partners. The game is slow enough that it lends itself to quality discussions, where you can discover shared interests outside of golf. Golf tournaments and events can be useful within many different categories, ranging from volunteer and professional opportunities. Charity events are common, and can not only bring the community closer, but can help people and organizations in need. It is a great option for partnership and sponsorship opportunities, as well as team building retreats. It is also a welcoming and fun activity that offers friendly, unthreatening competition. Connecting through playing a sport creates a level of trust, and respect that other outings may not provide. When it comes to networking at tournaments, look beyond your short term goals of simply acquiring contacts for career purposes. By becoming curious and sincere about their work and any advice your contact may have for you will help them feel more appreciated. If you are seen as more than a casual acquaintance to those you are networking with, you will hold more long-term value. Always make sure you have business cards with you, and if you meet someone you would like to keep in touch with and stay in their good graces, it doesn’t hurt to send a thank you or follow-up note after the event expressing your enthusiasm of having met them. Interested in holding a golf tournament or networking golf group event here at The Club? Contact Cassie Pete today for more information at 775-850-4471 ext 209 or email [email protected]. What’s Cooking with Chef Kevin….. There are so many fun activities going on around the club! Firstly, what a view once you drive up to the club and get to see all the new landscaping. The landscaping isn’t the only thing that’s been changing around here. Have you had a chance to come and see our new menu? Don’t worry! We kept as many of our classics as we could so hopefully your favorite is still available. If not don’t be shy and try one of our new items like the Summer Breeze salad. It has fresh strawberries, mandarin oranges, goat cheese, sunflower seeds, sweet red onions, cucumber, and one of our new house dressings the Citrus Thyme Vinaigrette! We introduced a classic version of the Juicy Lucy, an American cheese stuffed burger. LOBSTER!! That’s right I said it. Come around dinner time and you can add a lobster to any meal. We’re splitting them down the middle and grilling them to keep the summer feeling alive. One of my favorites is a new entrée. Moroccan Potatoes & Quinoa- roasted baby potatoes with harissa sauce (house made Basque style chili paste), red quinoa, green beans, and garnished with house made preserved lemon. Here is a picture of this entrée with the added lobster tail. Too much good stuff to list here so come in for lunch or call and make a reservation for dinner! Just a reminder when practicing on the driving range, please hit golf balls from the fresh turf behind your last divot in a “Linear” fashion making one solid line of divots. Please avoid taking scattered or concentrated divots. Studies have shown the “Linear” pattern uses less area and allows for a faster, healthier turf recovery which is important when it comes to a busy driving range like ours. Thank you! Jeremy Budge Director of Golf

Walsh’s Word: Greetings all from your friendly, neighborhood Membership Director – I hope everyone enjoyed some quality recreation and relaxation over the Memorial Day weekend. As you all may know – we’re consistently striving to build The Club the right way through friend’s inviting friends and assuring the growth continues to provide a Club experience complimented by the exceptional camaraderie our members share. It is an immensely exciting time for The Club with all of the recently talked about future plans, on-going Club & Golf course improvements, and the immense pride and continued support from our membership. I have continued to see my love for The Club grow with each season (already going on my seventh!) and with that comes my great enthusiasm to share The Club with all of your guests and friends. We have a great Sponsorship pathway to inviting your friends with an official Invitation and now is the time to draft the Invitation for your friend so they do not miss out on the best opportunity to join you in membership. Don’t forget that we’re always looking forward to sending our top 5 Sponsors to the Partner’s Invitational in October that is hosted at PGA National in West Palm Beach, FL! I also wanted to remind anyone that would like more info about the Premier experience or Palmer Advantage – please do not hesitate to reach out with questions. We seem to have quite a large percentage of Member’s that are benefitting from the Clubhouse a la carte dining discount and do not forget about the travel, reciprocal, and shopping services also available. Consider that we are one of only 13 private country clubs in the nation that offers the Premier experience exclusively for our Members. Additionally, we assure the benefit is strictly for our Members that pay monthly dues and does not apply to guests, friends, or extended family beyond dependents. Don’t fret! Anyone is eligible to receive the Premier discount at The Club by accepting an official Invitation from a current Member and enrolling as a Member of The Club at ArrowCreek. I look forward to seeing you all at The Club and especially looking forward to hitting the links with all of you this summer! Best Regards, Walsh Trujillo

MAY BLOOD DRIVE SUCCESS! A great big thank you to those of you who took the time to donate blood on May 19th. As you know, we were in competition with the Montreux community as they held their blood drive on the same day as our blood drive. Montreux donated 11 pints of blood and ArrowCreek donated 23 pints of blood. The overall winner is our Northern Nevada community who benefit from blood donations. One pint of blood may save up to 3 lives. The winner of the round of golf for 4 at Montreux is Jim Gaebe. Jim was one of our happy donors and I was excited to award him with the Montreux golf certificate. Thank you again for your generosity and please watch for our Fall 2019 blood drive announcements. Donna Perez

High Octane Evenings First Meet of 2018 was a huge success on May 23rd. Did you see all the gorgeous cars? Just in case you missed it……
