Grade 7s Here is an example of what you will print and hand in before you begin the next media assignment:
Grade 7 and 8 The idea is to blend a picture of yourself with images from the media that relate to you, i.e. shows you watch, brands you buy, things you do on the internet, music you listen to, anything that is conveyed in the media. Follow the steps on the web to create your collage The final submission must include a written piece identifying your media texts and discussing them. A good submission will identify all of the media used and will discuss 2 to 3 of them in depth. Who is the audience? What are the text identifiers? What is the means of production? A superior submission will do this and also discuss one item of controversy. All media texts contains social and political values. They do this by including or excluding things, groups and people. Choose one of your items and discuss how it represents a political or social value. Explain how having this as one or your media texts, is a decision that you have thought about and still use this media. Here is an example of what you will print and hand in:
