SIUE Mentor Program The SIUE Career Development Center encourages students to conduct informational interviews with professionals in potential career fields to get a more “real world” perspective about what a career in that field involves. Although we have some individuals who we routinely refer students to for these informational interviews, we are hoping to expand this program to as many majors and career options as possible. We are hoping to develop a list of individuals who would be willing to share their story with students, to discuss how they got into their current career, and to answer questions about the daily activities of their jobs. If you would be willing to participate in this program, or you know someone else who would be a great resource for students, we would love to hear from you. Please note that we will try to keep referrals of students to a minimum for each participant. We will also share with students in advance some general guidelines for the informational interviewing process. In addition, we are also looking for individuals who might be willing to share their career story with small groups of students in a workshop setting or who might be interested in hosting small groups of students for employer site visits at their work location. If you have questions or are interested in participating in this new Mentor Program, please contact the Career Development Center at 618-650-3708.
