Directors Corner, Directory, Trips Remarks from Renee
The holidays are upon us and it is time to count our blessings. We are so grateful that the senior center had power and heat during Hurricane Sandy and that we were able to help others by serving as an emergency shelter for all of Lake County. Thank you to the Red Cross for providing staff, meals, snacks and cots. Thanks to GFS for donating food and thanks to Ken and Carol Kothera for volunteering wherever needed. Thank you especially to our hard working staff that worked through the nights, took extra shifts and did so with a smile. We are so very blessed.

MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION POLICIES Membership Membership is available for anyone 55 years of age or older. Mentor resident fees are $7 and non-resident fees are $10. We ask that anyone participating at the center more than once a year join as a member. This includes any program participants such as card players, pool players, table tennis players, culture group participants, Mentor Follies Dancers, and Mentor Music Makers. Membership cards and Scanning in We ask that each participant wear their membership card when at the center. This helps in emergency situations and helps both staff and members learn names. We also ask you to scan your membership card each time you enter the center. We have a card reader at both the Munson Road and 615 entrances. This helps us to track our attendance numbers, helps with funding requests and tracks utilization so we can determine best times for new programs. There is no need to scan on your way out. There is no need to sign the book if you scan in. Thanks for your help. Guests Guests are welcome to participate one time before joining. Guests or those interested in membership may register for one program or one trip. We ask that anyone participating at the center more than once a year join as a member. Non-senior participant policy A non-senior is welcome to join the MSC. If you are not yet 55, we ask that you purchase an annual non-senior participant pass. Fees are $10 for a resident and $13 for a nonresident. Please 5&63$6,(6$($5&57$835-&.$-8$5&6$(99&:3;$6&$<83$6,3$=$65388$.&&>?$

Kitchen News Cathy Jo is the Kitchen coordinator and works 5 days per week. She works very hard to provide delicious, nutritious, healthy, home cooked meals at a very reasonable price. Phyllis Bush was hired this summer as an assistant in the kitchen and has done a wonderful job cooking, shopping and serving our great meals. We have not increased prices in nearly 5 years, but unfortunately food costs continue to rise. We will have some slight increases in lunch prices beginning January 1. Most notably lunch specials will be $4.00.
