Directors Corner, Directory, Volunteer Corner Remarks from Renee

SENIOR CENTER INFORMATION

There is a chill in the air and the season is turning colder, which means we have many great indoor activities planned for you. Take a look at all the great trips for 5678&2-&0).09&2:/&!&1.;&!-/&2-&3/1.++& class. Please join us for cake and coffee and a brief program showcasing the 20th Anniversary of our building on Nov 24 at 12:30. The new year also means its time to renew your membership. Please renew your membership between Nov 1 and Dec 31 to remain active. Of course colder weather also means the holidays are upon us. Best wishes to all our staff and members for a holiday spent with family and friends, counting our many blessings.

Dave Discusses

I know the holidays are a busy time of the year and the Senior Center is no different. On top of the many parties held here by the different classes and groups, there are several special events. The annual Veteran’s Breakfast is Sat, Nov 7 at 9:30 a.m. Our Arts and Crafts Sale is scheduled for Sat, Nov 14 from 9 !"#"$%&'"#"&()*+&*+&!&,-.!/&0)!10.&/2&314& some handmade gifts for loved ones. The 2016 Travel Show is Mon, Nov 16 at 1pm. Let’s hope Mother Nature doesn’t grace us with 18” of snow like last year. Our biggest luncheon of the year is Thu, Nov 19 at Lamalfa Party Center. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. and includes entertainment by Eddie and the Edsels. December entertainment includes Mentor High School Top 25 on Thu, Dec 3 at 7 p.m. and Hillcrest Concert Band on Dec 8 at 7:30 p.m. I wish you and your family a blessed holiday season!

DID YOU KNOW? All seniors should renew membership by December 31. Our computer system is unable to track 2016 visits until you are a 2016 member. We DO NOT follow the Mentor Schools closing schedule. We rarely close, but we do ask seniors to use good judgment for their safety when choosing to drive. The group creates a story week from a picture. It’s a fun way to be creative, use your imagination, recall and share pleasant memories, and keep sharp your communication skills – both talking and listening. The created picture stories will be saved and put into a notebook along with the names of the ‘creators’ and placed in the lounge area for others to see. !"#$%$&"&'()*+,--$,*./0$1 Location: Senior Center Cultural Arts Room Activity# Date Day Time 39698 Jan 11-Feb 29 Mon 11:40 a.m.–12:40 p.m. Resident/Nonresident: Free
