Support groups, Services, special elders, Library Health and Advisory Services FLU SHOTS Thursday, October 11, 1:30—3 p.m. The Lake County Health District will administer the flu shots this year. Two types of flu vaccines will be offered. The high dose flu vaccine has been designed specifically for individuals 65 years of age and older and the seasonal flu vaccine was designed for individuals 18 – 64 years of age. The Health District will bill Medicare Part B for Medicare eligible participants with no other supplemental HMO. If you have supplemental insurance, check with your insurance representative to see if you can get reimbursed when you receive the vaccine. The charge is $22 without coverage. Register at Mentor Senior Center now through October 8, or until capacity is reached. You will be asked when you register to come during a specific half-hour increment. Mentor Seniors LLC Election and annual meeting Mentor Seniors, LLC Board of Trustees serves as an Advisory Board to the Mentor Senior Center. There are five elected officers including president, vice president, treasurer, corresponding secretary and recording secretary. The nominating committee is seeking nominations for officers for a two year term Jan 1, 2013 – December 31, 2014. If you are interested in one of these positions please see a current Board officer or indicate position interest in the blue book at the front desk by September 6. The nominating committee will submit the slate of names to the board at September 10 th board meeting and the election will take place at the annual meeting on October 24. The president, vice president, treasurer and recording secretary must be Mentor residents. A non-resident who has volunteered 30 hours in the past calendar year is eligible to serve as corresponding secretary. The Mentor Seniors LLC annual meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 24. Please register and pay at least one week before the beginning date of each class. The City of Mentor accepts Cash, Check, Visa and Mastercard. When registering online, Discover and American Express may also be used. PROGRAM/ACTIVITY REFUND GUIDELINES READ CAREFULLY. 1. Full refund or transfer if Mentor Senior Center cancels the program/activity. 2. An administrative charge of $10 will be assessed if the participant cancels out of the program/activity. Registration for FALL/WINTER classes for Mentor residents begins at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4 for all classes. Nonresident registration begins for all classes on Thursday, September 6 at 8:00 a.m. You may register for one other person only. Additional forms will be available at the Mentor Senior Center. Call if you have questions about completing the form. If you don’t come to in-person registration, please register at least one week before the beginning date of each class. The city of Mentor accepts cash, check or Visa and MasterCard. When registering online, Discover and American Express may also be used. The menu for the September Celebration is tender beef burgundy over noodles, fresh summer mixed vegetables, roll with butter, and carrot cake for dessert. This monthly event is open to everyone. The Mentor Seniors LLC Board is allocating funds for our 90 Plus members. Those who are 90 and older may make your free reservation by September 21. Please be aware that no other food will be served this day. Participants under 90 years old may make reservations for $5.50 by September 21. The Sweet Adelines will entertain us. Arts And Crafts Sale Saturday, November 17, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Homemade arts and crafts of all kinds will be available for sale at the annual Arts and Crafts Sale. Yummy baked goods will also be available for sale. There is no admission fee, and the sale is open to the public. The cost is $20 for a 6-ft. table and $15 for a 5-ft table. Registration begins September 4 for resident seniors and September 6 for nonresident seniors. If space permits non-seniors may register beginning October 1.
