Dear Parents, Carers, Governors and Friends, Thank you very much to everyone who was able to attend Sports Day on Wednesday, the weather was not exactly what we would have chosen but it was still a great event. The children all took part enthusiastically and were very supportive and encouraging to each other. Well done to all of the parents who took part too, thank you for being such good sports. It was a shame that we were not able to go ahead with the whole school picnic in the park, but on a positive note we just about got through the day before the rain came. A big thank you to Raglan staff who were in the park at 7.15am making sure it was clear of dog poo and hazards and to the team of helpers from Ravensbourne who ensured the events ran smoothly. Thank you also to the parents who walked to and from the park with us. Last year we held Sports day at Ravensbourne School , but moved it back to Whitehall Recreation Ground in response to feedback from parents. Next week we will be sending out a questionnaire , which will include a question about sports day and we would be very interested to have your feedback. May I please remind you to monitor the sites that your children are accessing via the Internet. A parent has contacted school to make us aware that adults are accessing a site where children are able to share singing and dancing videos and asking children to send photos of themselves. The police have been informed, but do please talk to your children about internet safety at home. Miss Wood did an e-safety assembly this morning as well, giving strategies for dealing with issues online. Enjoy your weekend, Kath Margetts and staff
Year 2 Trip to Howletts Wild Animal Park The children had a special talk from the zookeeper in the gorilla enclosure where the zookeeper told the children all about these beautiful creatures. The children asked many questions and the keeper was extremely impressed with how much the children knew. Both classes then ventured around the zoo and met some of the other animals in their habitats. A massive thank you to all of the parents that supported us on the trip as it was a wonderful day!
