What's Going On in the Library: Beaver Creek Institution Partnership: Thurs. March 3 Tech Session 6:30 p.m. Apps, VOIP

Due to financial constraints, Correctional Services Canada will not be renewing the Bracebridge Public Library's contract to provide library services at the Beaver Creek Institution - Medium as of March 31, 2016. We are pleased to have provided quality library service for that facility for

Internet Training: Tuesday March 22, the Library will again have one-on-one basic internet training. If you would like to book a one hour session, call 705.645.4171 - the trainer will get back to you. Book Club Wednesday March 30 is the next Book Club - the topic is "Issues of Aging" and everyone is welcome to come and talk about a book they have read.

March's Featured Library Service: Helpful Websites - Did you know that the Library's website has links to all sorts of helpful online information? Under Library 24/7 is a list of Helpful Websites for children, teens and adults, as well as government information and genealogy. For example, kids could try out Cool Math, FunBrain, or the Ontario Time Machine. Teens might enjoy/need Teen Reads, Hockey Hall of Fame, or AskATeacher. For adults, there are links to Legal Line, Muskoka Books, Fantastic Fiction, New Dad Manual and more. There are links to all levels of government and our local genealogy group.

Friends of the Library: In celebration of March Break, the Friends of the Library

are having a children's and youth's book sale. From March 11-18, all youth's and children's books in the Book Nook are buy one, get one free! Since books for children and youth are our least donated items, a limited number are available. Please consider donating your gently used children and youth books to the Book Nook.

Tech Tips: For free legal answers and referrals, try Legalline.ca It includes 1,000 legal topics in 65 languages and even provides live help. Examples of topics are Family Law, Tax Law, Small Claims Court, Landlord and Tenant, Legal Aid, Worker's Compensation, Highway Traffic Act and much more. A free legal resource at your fingertips.
