NEW CLASSES 6 Key Spouse New Volunteer Training: This training is intended for new volunteers that will be acting as a Key Spouse for their unit. 6 Bundles for Babies: Class provides financial awareness on the cost of raising a child and information on community programs and resources. Participants will receive an AAFES gift certificate from the AFAS. 8 FBI Veterans Recruiting Event: The event will focus on the Special Agent position; however, a representative from the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) will be there to speak a little about HRT, as well. Sessions will be held at the King Auditorium and should last about an hour. 9 Boundaries in Relationships: Learn how to make healthy choices and grow healthy relationships. 9 Spouse Transition Assistance Ready (STAR): This workshop will provide spouses of transitioning members the skills and knowledge necessary to plan and prepare for all aspects of transition. 15 Women’s VA Brief: A comprehensive explanation of VA benefits for the Veteran Woman. 17 Tell Me A Story (TMAS): Join our distinguished guest speaker as he reads the book “Giraffes Can’t Dance”. Receive a copy of the book and stay for pizza and an activity. The program will be held at the Youth Center from 1600-1800. This event is for families with children age 4-12. 30 Blended Retirement (BRS) Opt-In Training: This training will provide participants with the information required to be able to make an informed decision regarding retirement options. Trainings will be held at the King Auditorium.

DEPLOYMENT RELATED Reintegration; 1300-1330; Tuesdays & Thursdays @ the A&FRC: Required briefing for those returning from deployments. Covers how to manage the stress related to returning home and family life, things to look for in yourself, how to deal with change, communication skills, parenting issues and adjustment strategies for singles. Pre-deployment; 0800-0900; Wednesdays @ the DCC: Required briefing for member preparing for deployment. EMPLOYMENT RELATED Resume Readiness; 7 Nov, 0900-1130 @ the A&FRC: Gain knowledge on researching/developing non-federal resumes. Getting Started with LinkedIn; 8 Nov, 0900-1100 @ the A&FRC: Learn the value of creating a professional social media profile to get noticed by hiring managers and connect to industries of choice. Making a Career Decision; 16 Nov, 1400-1600 @ the A&FRC: An interest inventory is given and the class discusses options of careers. Federal Employment Workshop; 22 Nov, 0900-1100 @ the A&FRC: This class will provide information on how to write a federal resume and will help you become familiar with the USAJOBS website. FAMILY & KIDS Moms, Pops & Tots (0-2 yrs); Tuesdays, 1000-1100 @ the A&FRC: A playgroup for moms, pops and their tots ages 0-2. Meet other parents in the similar stages of life as you connect with others while the kiddos play! Moms, Pops & Tots (2-4 yrs); Wednesdays, 1000-1100 @ the A&FRC: A playgroup for moms, pops and their tots ages 2-4. Meet other parents in the similar stages of life as you allow for socialization of the kids! Welcome Spouse; 8 Nov; 0900-1400 @ the A&FRC: This orientation is designed to welcome and assist new spouses with resources that will aid in adapting to their new community. A tour is included. Okaloosa Mentor Program Volunteer Training; 17 Nov 1300-1345 hrs @ the AFRC: Training to become an Okaloosa School District mentor. After this training, the Okaloosa District screens, fingerprints, and matches volunteer mentors with youth. Give Parents a Break; 18 Nov, 0900-1500 @ the CDC West & Youth Center: An Air Force Aid Society sponsored program that provides childcare for spouses of deployed members, single AD parents, or families under stress (must meet with a consultant for referral). Requires a referral by a First Sergeant, Chaplain, or the A&FRC. Single Parent Support Group; 21 Nov, 1130-1230 @ the A&FRC: An informal lunchtime meeting to share with others the joys and challenges of being a single AD parent. Lunch is provided. Reservations should be made NLT the Friday before the event. RELOCATION Plan My Move (Smooth Move); 3 Nov, 1300-1430 @ the A&FRC: Tips and tools for Airmen and their families PCS'ing CONUS or OCONUS. MUST ATTEND if you fall into one of these four categories: (1) Less than 4 years of military service, (2) First time PCS, (3) First time overseas PCS, (4) First time Remote PCS. Newcomer’s Orientation; 7 & 28 Nov, 0730-1600 @ the King Auditorium: Mandatory Briefing for all new personnel assigned to Hurlburt Field. The class covers base required material, local laws, fulfills several in -processing requirements, and has lots of helpful resources. First Duty Station Officer Brief; 6 Nov, 1100-1200 & 30 Nov, 1400-1500 @ the A&FRC: Financial readiness briefing for newly assigned first duty station officers. Sponsor Training; 27 Nov, 1000-1100 @ the A&FRC. Class prepares sponsors to assist inbound personnel and their families. Intro Monitor Training; 27 Nov, 1100-1200 @ the A&FRC. Overview of responsibilities to including sponsorship training information. TRANSITION PROGRAMS & CLASSES Pre-separation Briefing; Thursdays, 0745-1000 @ the A&FRC: Congressionally mandated briefing for transitioning members. Retirees may attend 2 years prior to separation and those separating may attend 1 year from separation (must complete NLT 90 days from separation date - no orders needed). For those receiving an Admin discharge, briefing will be held on Wednesday @ 0800-1000. Transition GPS Workshop (5 Day TAP); 0800-1600 @ the A&FRC: A&FRC and Department of Labor (DOL) Workshop (5 days), held twice a month at the A&FRC. A briefing on TRICARE and the AF Reserve will also be available on the Tuesday, 1330-1445 hrs. VA Benefits Brief (Stand Alone); 20 Nov, 0800-1500 @ the A&FRC: The Veterans' Briefing is an integral facet of the Transition GPS Workshop; mandatory attendance for all transitioning military members not attending the 5-day workshop.
