Are you thinking

PRE-DENTAL

about pursuing a career in a professional medical field? Let LLCC equip you to succeed.

“The math and science classes I took at LLCC not only helped me get into veterinary school, they helped provide the foundation to be successful once I became a practicing veterinarian. I could not have made it without the support and encouragement of the tremendous faculty at LLCC. Some of the best instructors I ever had at any level are still teaching there.” Sean E. Snyder, DVM, MBA 07/17

Providing students the tools for academic success!

Dental programs require a rich knowledge of many fields of science. This track is designed to: 1) enable a student to earn an Associate of Science at LLCC 2) provide a student with a strong science background for seamless transfer to a four-year school, while majoring in chemistry, biology or some other closely related field.

Important Note on Sequenced Science Offerings - A sequenced science offering is a pair of courses (such as PHY 101 and 102, PHY 201 and 202, or CHE 201 and 202) over which subject matter is split. If you intend to complete the first half of a sequenced science offering at LLCC and the second half at your transfer school, you run the risk of having to repeat the first course at the transfer school IF the content split in the sequence at LLCC varies enough from the content split at the transfer school. Therefore, it might be in your best interest to finish out the sequence at LLCC or not start the sequence before transferring.

Contact Information - For more information, speak to an LLCC science instructor or contact the LLCC Declaration of Major - To register for classes at LLCC, students must indicate what program or certificate they are pursuing. The coursework in the pre-dental track is well-suited to any student pursuing the LLCC Associate in Science with a declared major in biology, chemistry or liberal arts.

*Recommended Science Electives: CHE 201/202 (Organic Chemistry), and/or PHY 101/102 (algebra-based) or PHY 201/202 (calc-based), and/or BIO 201 (Human Anatomy), and/or BIO 225 Microbiology for Majors. Students should coordinate their course electives to best match their chosen major requirements at the four-year school they plan to transfer to and/or the admission requirements of the dental school they plan to attend. **Consult the LLCC Catalog or LLCC advisers to help in determining your fine arts, humanities, math and social science general-education electives.
