The purpose of the Quality Management Committee is to support the clinical leadership of the Washington Poison Center in the development and execution of the quality management program. Specifically, the charge of the committee to define, prioritize, develop, oversee and monitor performance improvement activities in alignment with the strategic mission and vision of the Washington Poison Center. The Quality Management program will define specific areas of improvement based on the analysis of performance and/or operational data, design and implement interventions, and then monitor improvement efforts for effectiveness. Responsibilities: 

Attend Quality Management Committee meetings, as scheduled. The committee will meet every 3 months or more frequently as the need arises. Day and time to be determined by the current membership.



Develop and review regularly (at least every third year) the quality management program and ensure it adheres to the AAPCC accreditation criteria.



Review metrics on an annual basis to determine the appropriateness of current metrics and/or benchmarks. For those metrics for which a benchmark does not exist, the Quality Management Committee in collaboration with the clinical leadership of the poison center will develop a mutually agreed upon benchmark.



Review feedback, if any, from the Annual Accreditation Compliance Report in regards to Quality Management.

Membership:  Executive Director/Medical Director  Managing Director  Call Center Staff CSPI  Quality Management Chair (appointed by the Board President)  Two or more additional members (Board members only)
