Habitat for Humanity is privileged to work in partnership with The Home Depot Foundation through the Repair Corps program to make needed housing repairs in partnership with veterans and their families.
To Qualify for the Repair Corps Program
Repair Corps Program The program is open to all who have served the armed forces and reside in Eastern Jackson County, provided they have received an honorable or general discharge. It is not restricted to any specific veteran groups.
You may be eligible if you meet our 3 guidelines: need, ability to pay and willingness to partner. 1. You must have need for Critical Home Repair and/or Home Preservation. 2. You must have the ability to pay. You may not have any judgments, excessive credit debt or multiple bills in collections. (Please call us if you’re not sure.)
The program is available June 2016-April 2017. We are looking for veterans who we can assist! This is open to all veterans in Eastern Jackson County! Critical Home Repair is interior or exterior work performed to alleviate critical health, life and safety issues or code violations, including a change to or repair of materials or components; a reconfiguration of space; a modification for accessibility; installation or extension of plumbing, mechanical or electrical systems on an existing structure.
Home preservation projects are exterior work that includes painting, patching, minor repair, accessibility ramps and rails, and landscaping or replacement of materials for the purpose of maintaining a good or sound condition of the home. You must not have not declared bankruptcy or foreclosure in the last 12 months. You must pay rent/mortgage on time. You must have stable/ verifiable income. Your income falls within the following 2016 guidelines: Family Size
