SIU Intellectual Property Policy The Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University approved the use of a System-wide Intellectual Property Policy on July 14, 2016, which may be found here. All inventions, creations and discoveries that were not previously disclosed to the Office of Technology Transfer before July 14, 2016 will be subject to the provisions found within this System-wide Intellectual Property Policy unless you are subject to the collective bargaining terms of the Carbondale Faculty Association. These documents govern the responsibilities, liabilities, and distribution of income from intellectual property for both SIU and creators/inventors that work with SIU. All inventions, creations and discoveries that were submitted to the Office of Technology Transfer before July 14, 2016 will be subject to the respective governing intellectual property policies at the time of their disclosures. Those intellectual property policies may be made available upon request to the Office of Technology Transfer.
