Introduction Dear Applicant, You will find a great deal of information about SHP in this pack, not least our vision and priorities. We recognise that we will not achieve these if we can’t recruit, train, motivate and retain the right staff. That’s where you come in. We will need you to bring leadership to the HR function, to re-energize and re-position it within SHP. We need an HR function capable of supporting our growth and diversification plans, one that has its finger on the pulse of the organisation, one that can tell us what we as the Executive Management Team and Board need to know and one that can make sure that we have the staff with the skills they need to deliver our plans. Your first task will be to develop the strategy, to ensure you have the resources, to determine the priorities based on our business plans. You may want to: improve our use of IT to deliver better data about our people; create a stronger learning and development offering; enhance our leadership capabilities; amend our reward strategy; develop our staff engagement approach; restore our IIP Gold status. There is plenty to be done and you will need a proactive and dynamic approach. We’ve been marking time for a while and we now need someone with a real desire to make a difference and a name for themselves, and for us. We see ourselves as an ethical and transparent employer - we like to have fun in our workplace but we are focused on delivering high quality services. We are committed to equality and supporting diversity. You will be responsible for an HR service with a very wide scope so you need a broad understanding and willingness to enhance your skills. So, if you have a broad swathe of HR experience, understand the drivers of working in a business that delivers social value, are ambitious to head up an HR function and ready to embrace strategic challenges then we would like to hear from you. Tell us what you offer in terms of experience and share with us your vision for excellence in HR.
