BIRMINGHAM ZOO JR. BOARD
Thank you for your interest in joining the Birmingham Zoo Junior Board. We are proud representatives of the most visited attraction in Alabama, and we promote membership in and financially support this jewel of Birmingham. The Junior Board’s primary mission is to support the Birmingham Zoo through fundraising efforts and volunteering at Zoo events. Each member of the Junior Board needs to satisfy several requirements to remain in satisfactory standing with the board. • • • • •
Members are appointed for a three-year term Complete 10 “Service Credits” within a Calendar year Help plan and attend our 2 fundraisers: Tails in the Trails (casual happy hour event in the spring) and Zoo Gala After Party (Black Tie event in the fall) Current Zoo Membership during your term Active attendance at Jr. Board meetings and subcommittee activities throughout the year
Fulfillment of these requirements will require both a financial (approx. $250/year) and time commitment, but we see it as imperative to support Zoo activities. If these activities appeal to you and the expectations are congruent with your current time requirements, then we would enjoy having you as a potential new member of the Junior Board!
